method of delivery: can be used to contaminate food and water supplies

 

 

symptoms of exposure: sustained fever as high as 39-40˚C, stomach pains, headache, loss of apetite, some cases have small red rashes on abdomen and chest known as “rose spots”

 

 

incubation period: 10—20 days

 

 

effects: severe intestinal infection, dehydration, hemorrhage, death

 

 

structure: small circular bacteria with tails
